Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This website is operated by Senthil Chicken, Adhiyaman Street, Daily Market, Tirupur, Tamil Nadu 641604.
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Senthil Chicken website or Android app, why we need it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to this policy, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account (see section 6).
1. What we collect
We collect only what we need to take and deliver your order:
- Account details: your mobile number, your name, an email address if you choose to give one, and your preferred language.
- Delivery details: the addresses you save, a contact name and phone for each, and the map location you pin.
- Location: in the Android app, when you tap Use my location or look for the nearest shop, we read your phone's precise (GPS) or approximate location once, while the app is open. We never collect your location in the background. On the website, your browser asks for your permission first.
- Order details: what you ordered, your cut preferences, your delivery instructions, the bill, and the order's status history.
- Voice notes: if you tap Record to add a voice note to an order, the app asks for microphone permission and the recording is stored on our server with that order. The shop staff and the rider handling the order can listen to it.
- Payment details: whether you chose cash on delivery or online payment, whether it succeeded, the amount, and the payment gateway's reference number. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on the payment gateway's own screens and never reach us or get stored by us.
- Notification and device details: if you allow notifications, a notification token (in the Android app, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token from Google; on the website, a browser push address), and your phone's model name and the app version, so we can list the phones signed in to your account.
- Server logs: our servers keep standard technical logs, which include your IP address and the time of each request. Google Play may also give us anonymised crash and performance reports for the app. We do not use any analytics or advertising trackers.
2. Why we use it
We use your data to sign you in, prepare and deliver your orders, contact you about an order, find your nearest shop, send you order updates (and offers, which you can switch off), provide customer support, run the offers and referrals you take part in, prevent fraud and misuse, and keep the records the law requires. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with those who need it to serve your order, and we never sell it:
- Our shop staff and delivery riders, who see your name, phone number, address, voice note and order so they can prepare and deliver it.
- Cashfree Payments India Pvt. Ltd., our payment gateway, which processes online payments. Cash on delivery involves no gateway.
- Our SMS provider (Fast2SMS), which sends your one-time password to your phone.
- Google, which delivers notifications to the Android app through Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google may process the notification token outside India) and provides the address lookup we use to turn a pinned location into an address.
- Our hosting provider, whose servers in Bengaluru, India store the website, the app's data and our backups.
- Government or law-enforcement authorities, when the law requires it.
4. Cookies and what the app stores on your phone
The website uses only the cookies it needs to work: to keep you signed in, remember your language, theme and cart, and remember whether you have dismissed the install prompt. The Android app keeps your sign-in token in your phone's secure storage and remembers your language and theme. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. How long we keep it
We keep data only as long as it is needed:
- Your account and saved addresses: until you delete your account.
- Voice notes: kept with the order so the shop can follow your instructions, and deleted when you delete your account. We do not currently delete them automatically at any other time.
- Orders and payment records: kept for 7 years, because accounting and tax law requires it. When you delete your account they are kept without your name, phone number, address and delivery instructions.
- One-time passwords expire after five minutes.
- Backups are kept for 7 days and then deleted, so deleted data also leaves our backups within 7 days.
- Server logs are rotated automatically and kept only briefly.
6. Your choices and rights
You can see and edit your name, email and addresses in your account at any time. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it or erase it, and withdraw your consent.
To delete your account, go to Account > Delete my account in the Android app or on the website, or visit https://senthilchicken.com/delete-account. We delete your personal data straight away, except order and payment records that the law requires us to keep, which we keep without your personal details (see section 5).
You can switch off notifications, location or microphone access at any time in your phone's settings, and turn off offer notifications in the app. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may also nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or are unable to act. To use any right, contact us as shown in section 9; we respond within 30 days.
7. Security
The website and the app talk to our servers only over encrypted HTTPS connections. One-time passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, and staff can see only the information their role needs. No system is completely secure, so please keep your phone and OTP private and tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
8. Children
Our service is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
9. Grievance Officer
If you have a question or complaint about your personal data, or want to use any of your rights, write to our Grievance Officer, as the Information Technology Rules, 2011 require. We acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days.
